The short Homeric Hymn to Asclepius salutes the healer as son of Apollo and Coronis, daughter of Phlegyas; she bore him on the Dotian plain (Thessalian), a great joy to men, charmer of disease and healer. The singer closes with a customary farewell and request for song. There is no narrative of the crow, the pyre, or Zeus’s bolt—only the birth-genealogy and the healing function. Catalogue it as the Asclepius hymn-atom distinct from the fuller Coronis tragedy, the Epidaurian cult aetiology, and the resurrection myths that provoke Zeus.
